Moving from California to Boston, Massachusetts to study at the Berklee College of Music, and then to Valencia, Spain for four months to study abroad, then to Nashville, Tennessee for a summer, Elyse Black has left a musical footprint on every city she’s lived in. From public performances in front of 100s in the Palau de Les Arts, to recording sessions in the legendary Blackbird Studio, Elyse Black has been busy capturing her sound and making her name known around the world.
Elyse Black brings a night of fun, light-hearted yet real music. From hip-hop grooves like “red flag” about dating mishaps, to an R&B ballad on reclaiming self-worth after the “Halo Effect” has worn off, to intimate singer/songwriter moments that feel “cozy,” a jazzy cocktail vibe poking fun at “FOMO,” a chill R&B track assuring it’s “all good,” and a Latin-inspired ode to “Peanut Butter,” her set will have you dancing, laughing, crying, and connecting. Elyse thrives on community and live interaction—come to a show to unwind, laugh, and have fun!
As the 2022 First Place Recipient of The Monday Club of San Luis Obispo Fine Arts Awards Jazz Competition, and 2023 Second Place Recipient of the same competition, Elyse Black proudly represents her hometown.
In her final year at the Berklee College of Music, Elyse Black is getting the most out of everything the school has to offer. Gearing up for a performance on October 24th with the on campus Caf Shows, she is excited to share her music with her peers. She also plans on recording several singles to be released over the course of the next year and has been leaning into production.
